If you are planning an event and would like everyone to have fun, be active and interactive, perhaps you should consider what some people call a barn party or square dance or western party or community dance. I am available to teach, lead and entertain at these types of festivities and I’m happy to share some ideas for your event to help create a memorable experience.
While the main feature of dance parties like this is FUN, there are some other interesting benefits to consider.
Relationship building – somehow when people play together, laugh together and, especially in square dances, work together to successfully achieve a goal (completing the routine), a camaraderie is formed, protective walls begin to crumble, and friendships are nurtured. Team building – The definitions of teamwork is “cooperative or coordinated effort by a group”. In square dancing each individual follows their own path, as the moves dictate, to establish geometric formations as a group and, ultimately, end in the same place they started. Line dancing is synchronized or at least attempts to be. It can be quite entertaining as slower learners try to follow those who catch on quick. Did you know that the organizer of events where music is played is responsible for royalty fees for the use of the music? Yikes! Don’t panic. I am licensed by BMI and ASCAP to play music on your behalf and I’m insured as well. |
When you think of “Barn Party” what kind of music comes to mind? Yep! I play Country and Western music both old and new… and pop, rock, easy listening, show tunes, salsa, classical, holiday. Well, you get the idea. I offer a diverse range of genres and if you are looking for something specific please include it in the “Special Requests” question of the Group/Party Price Request form.
I’m not just a DJ. I don’t just play music. I actively try to engage attendees and get them interacting on the floor. Get them moving, socializing and laughing! |
